The $TRUMP token, marketed as “Official Trump,” launched on 17 January 2025 — three days before the second inauguration. It is a memecoin: a token whose value rests on demand and association rather than on any product, dividend or claim on assets.
What it is, precisely
$TRUMP runs on the Solana blockchain. Its promoters have not claimed it entitles holders to profits, equity, governance rights, or anything produced by the Trump Organization. The project’s own materials have described it as a collectible expression of support rather than an investment.
That distinction is the single most important thing to understand about it. A share entitles you to part of a company. A bond entitles you to repayment. A memecoin entitles you to the token itself.
Supply and who holds it
A total supply of one billion tokens was set at launch. The large majority — reported at approximately 80% — was allocated to entities connected to the Trump business orbit, including CIC Digital LLC and an entity identified as Fight Fight Fight LLC, with those holdings subject to a multi-year unlock schedule rather than being immediately sellable.

Concentration matters for a simple mechanical reason: when a small number of wallets hold most of a token, the freely traded portion is a fraction of the headline supply, and the price is set by that fraction.
What happened to the price
$TRUMP rose steeply within days of launch and then fell a long way from that peak. We do not publish a projected or “expected” value for it, and we do not tell readers whether to buy anything. Why it appears on this site
A sitting president’s family launching a tradable asset days before inauguration raises questions this site exists to follow: who holds the supply, on what schedule it unlocks, what disclosure obligations attach, and what Congress has asked about it. Those are documentary questions with documentary answers.
